Intended Use

The Strep A Rapid Test is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of Strep A antigens in throat swab specimens collected from individuals with signs and symptoms of pharyngitis. The Strep A Rapid Test is intended for use by healthcare professionals and laboratory personnel as an in vitro diagnostic tool to help detect Group A Streptococcal infections. It provides preliminary results; however, a negative result does not rule out a Strep A infection and should not be the only basis for diagnosis or treatment decisions. Not intended for self-testing use.


Freezing Temperatures

As the weather gets colder in Canada, we understand some customers may be concerned about freezing temperatures during the shipment of Rapid Test Kits. The manufacturer has certified that these tests can withstand freezing temperatures during winter shipping, and the performance will not be affected by such exposure. Please ensure the device is fully equilibrated to room temperature before opening the foil pouch and performing the test. If the test kits are cold, we recommend opening the box and spreading out the contents on a counter top to acclimate to room temperature for 4 hours prior to use.
